Pritty was born into a farming community in Wayanad, Kerala, yet knew very little about what it meant to be a farmer. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics before pursuing Global Business Management at the postgraduate level. In 2024, she began working closely with small-scale farmers across Wayanad, and the experience changed the way she looked at agriculture. She realised a few things: farming is cool, farming can be incredibly challenging and requires strength, and perhaps most importantly, there is an ageing farming community alongside declining participation of youth in agriculture.
Currently, Pritty works as a Certification Manager at Wayanad Agricultural Society, managing certification processes including Fairtrade and organic certification for more than 1,500 small-scale coffee farmers. Alongside her professional work, she advocates for farmers and young people through global forums and platforms, sharing her experiences and perspectives on farming and bringing ground-level realities to global conversations.
Pritty’s vision is to contribute to making agriculture a viable and respected profession for people of all generations. Through YPARD India, she hopes to create greater awareness among young people about the diverse agricultural practices and knowledge that exist across different regions and communities. She also envisions a space where young people can explore different aspects of agriculture and learn directly from farmers, gaining practical knowledge and insights from their experiences while creating opportunities for knowledge to be shared across generations.
